I love studying Bible prophecy and sharing what I’m learning, and I’m careful about tone—no fear-mongering, no clickbait. When people sensationalize this topic, it only feeds scoffers (2 Peter 3:3–4), and it turns honest seekers away.
So here’s my approach: open the Bible, ask God for wisdom, compare Scripture with Scripture, and talk about what we’re seeing—calmly, clearly, humbly. We don’t have to be “alarmist,” but we also shouldn’t be silent. If God’s Word speaks about something, we should speak too.
Jesus said the last-days signs would be like birth pains—they start wide apart and grow closer together (Matthew 24:8). A lot of us who try to be level-headed are noticing exactly that, the tempo quickening, the headlines stacking up. That doesn’t mean panic, it means purpose.
“The Lord is not slow in keeping his promise… He is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance. But the day of the Lord will come like a thief.” (2 Peter 3:9–10, NIV)
Big Signposts We’re Watching (2025 lens)
-
Israel back in the land (since 1948) and Jerusalem central (since 1967) set the stage (Jeremiah 23:7–8; Daniel 9:27; Matthew 24:15). Israel’s headlines remain front and center—exactly where the Bible said they’d be.
-
Rising hostility around Israel with shifting alliances and “wars and rumors of wars” (Matthew 24:6; Ezekiel 38–39).
-
Temple readiness talk—instruments prepared, garments replicated, ongoing discussion of access on/near the Mount (Daniel 9:27; Revelation 11:1–2).
-
Global tech & control systems maturing—AI, biometrics, censorship, cashless trends, CBDC pilots—plausible rails for “no one can buy or sell” control (Revelation 13:16–17).
-
Moral freefall and confusion at scale (2 Timothy 3:1–5), plus growing spiritual deception and apostasy (Matthew 24:10–11; 2 Timothy 4:3–4).
-
Shakier supply chains, food insecurity, and inflation risks that echo famine-pattern prophecies (Matthew 24:7; Revelation 6:6–8).
-
Creation groaning: earthquakes in various places and extreme weather patterns we can’t ignore (Matthew 24:7; Romans 8:22).
-
Global communication that makes Revelation’s world-watch moments instantly believable (Revelation 11:9–10).
-
Gospel saturation accelerating through missions and media: “this gospel… will be preached in the whole world… and then the end will come.” (Matthew 24:14)
A Word About the Rapture—And Why “Imminent” Still Matters
Before we talk “signs,” remember: the Rapture is imminent—no countdown clock, no prerequisite signs (1 Thessalonians 4:16–17; John 14:1–3). That means many of the “signs” we discuss are really pointing toward the Tribulation and Second Coming. If those events look close, the Rapture is even closer.
A helpful picture I once heard: when you see stores putting up Christmas decorations, you know Thanksgiving is nearer still. Likewise, if Tribulation-type signs are going up all around us, our “blessed hope” (Titus 2:13) could be right at the door.
Why Israel Still Matters
Jesus told us to learn from the fig tree (Matthew 24:32–34). When Israel came back to life in the 20th century, prophecy watchers took note, and for good reason. God’s plans for Israel and the nations keep moving forward, exactly as He said. Keep your eyes on Jerusalem—it’s not “just politics,” it’s the stage God chose.
How To Watch Well (and Talk About It)
-
Open the Bible first, then the news.
-
Stay teachable, pray for understanding (James 1:5).
-
Avoid hype, but don’t downplay clear trends.
-
Keep the gospel central. Prophecy isn’t about winning arguments, it’s about winning people (2 Peter 3:9).
If all this feels heavy, hear Jesus’ encouragement:
“When these things begin to take place, stand up and lift up your heads, because your redemption is drawing near.” (Luke 21:28, NIV)
Quick Checklist for Conversations
-
Israel/Jerusalem remain the global focus—no surprise biblically.
-
Tech is sprinting toward centralized control; the Bible foresaw an enforced system.
-
Morals and truth are wobbling, churches are sifting; Scripture said it would.
-
The gospel is racing across the planet; God is still saving people today.
We don’t know the day or hour, but we do know this: Jesus is faithful, and He told us ahead of time so we wouldn’t be shaken, but ready.
If you’re new to all this and want a simple on-ramp, read Matthew 24–25, 1 Thessalonians 4–5, 2 Thessalonians 2, Daniel 9, and Revelation 1–3, 6–13. Take notes, pray, ask questions. God isn’t trying to hide the plot—He’s inviting you to trust Him through it.
Thank you for that excellent summary. I didn't realize how much we're seeing today.
ReplyDeleteJesus is coming and people should be ready. Thank you for your ministry!!!
ReplyDelete“Just as it was in the days of Noah, so also will it be in the days of the Son of Man. People were eating, drinking, marrying and being given in marriage up to the day Noah entered the ark. Then the flood came and destroyed them all.
It was the same in the days of Lot. People were eating and drinking, buying and selling, planting and building. But the day Lot left Sodom, fire and sulfur rained down from heaven and destroyed them all.
It will be just like this on the day the Son of Man is revealed. On that day no one who is on the roof of his house, with his goods inside, should go down to get them. Likewise, no one in the field should go back for anything. Remember Lot’s wife! Whoever tries to keep his life will lose it, and whoever loses his life will preserve it. I tell you, on that night two people will be in one bed; one will be taken and the other left. Two women will be grinding grain together; one will be taken and the other left.”
